JDA FocusConnect Inspires Action to Win Profitably

According to PwC’s Global Supply Chain Survey 2013, macroeconomic cycles of growth, contraction and recovery have become erratic, making reliable end-to-end supply chain and demand planning increasingly challenging. To win profitably in today’s new normal of extreme market and demand volatility, supply chain leaders must think outside the box to gain new levels of insight and innovation.

This year’s JDA FocusConnect 2012, was focused on helping supply chain leaders rethink and reshape fundamental supply chain processes and practices to drive a more profitable supply chain.

The New Supply Chain Imperatives

From unforgettable keynote presentations, insightful breakout sessions led by customers, industry analysts and JDA experts to networking receptions, FocusConnect highlighted today’s business realities and the new supply chain imperatives necessary to thrive in 2013.

Notable highlights included presentations by Makhteshim Agan on thinking global but acting local when it comes to global sales and operations planning process. Moreover, Didier Delmotte, director of Western Europe product supply operations at P&G, addressed transportation leadership and the significant impact on service, cost and sustainability that can be achieved through transportation transformation.

During one of our keynote presentations, former CEO of Tesco (1997-2011) Sir Terry Leahy shared how he transformed Tesco into the largest retail chain in Britain and key ingredients required to outperform its competitors.

Another remarkable presentation was by our very own Tom Dziersk, EVP of Sales and Marketing, who took the stage to outline new realities facing supply chain leaders and the key disciplines required to make the shift by adopting next-generation supply chain technologies, practices and processes to build a flexible, agile and high performance supply chain.

It was a pleasure sharing the stage with these presenters and learn more about how they have been able to achieve tremendous amount of success over the course of their career.

Connecting Leaders, Game Changers and Innovators

One of my favorite parts of the conference, and I think others will agree, is the networking aspect of the event. In addition to the content that we shared, an important objective is to foster networking among our customers, partners and JDA experts. FocusConnect did just that – providing a single platform that brought future leaders, game changers and innovators across multiple disciplines and industries to share insights and best practices.

Mixing Business and Fun

To truly thrive and win profitably in today’s ever changing world, companies must shift and take a leadership role in prioritizing supply chain initiatives to come through this time of challenge.
